A friendly practice where people are well taken care of

Dr. Scully tries to understand who each patient is and what they need both in terms of skin treatment and emotional support.  Within the office, there are 20 experienced and caring staff members including four receptionists who care just as deeply about patient satisfaction, always making sure that patients are treated with the utmost care; that the phone is always answered; and that patients are contacted about follow-up.

Marlena manages the reception desk staff with professionalism and concern for each patient. Anyone who calls or visits the office is greeted by Micka, Rachael, and Allison – great group of women.

Marissa is Dr. Scully’s right hand … a nurse practitioner extraordinaire who says, “Patient well-being is most important to us. It’s important to reassure patients, make sure their questions are answered and follow-up with them.” Marissa assists Dr. Scully and does laser treatments, as needed. She loves to spend time outdoors, especially in the water or on the snow. Marissa is quick to mention, “Just because we hate sun damage, doesn’t mean we can’t go outdoors. Like everyone, we just have to be smart about it.

A message from a valued patient:

“I’d like to thank you for employing a truly professional, competent and friendly staff.  From the person who saw me standing outside the door at 7:30 a.m. and invited me inside, to the person who checked me in, to the medical assistant — each reminded me of how rare it is today to interact with competent, accommodating employees.  I guess I’m old-fashioned in my  expectations.  They are to be commended, as should you for holding high expectations for the staff that assist and represent you.”

Thank you again,
S. K. San Francisco, CA

Q: What sunscreens does Dr. Scully recommend?

A: A good sun block must contain the ingredient, Mexoryl. Choose one with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Q: How do I make care of a wound after a biopsy or other procedure?

A: Clean the wound one to two times a day with soap and water. Apply a band aid and Aquaphor Ointment or Vasoline. Wounds heal best in a sterile, moist environment so don’t let the wound form a scab.

A: Avoid any product that contains aspirin so check the labels. Avoid Advil®, Motrin®, Ibuprofen, herbal supplements, Alka Seltzer, vitamin E and fish oil. . Also check with your primary physician about stopping any medications you may be taking.
